With Sukrin, diabetics can enjoy sweet products without having to worry about their blood sugar levels.

What are sweeteners?

Sweeteners are sugar substitutes. Some sweeteners are made in the factory, these are called artificial sweeteners. Other sweeteners, such as Sukrin, occur naturally and are called natural sweeteners. The sweetener does not affect blood sugar and therefore fits well in a responsible diet of diabetics. The safety of sweeteners for diabetics has been proven.

The healthy sugar substitute for diabetics

Meet Sukrin - the healthy sugar replacer for diabetics. Sukrin is a 100% natural and low-calorie sugar alternative based on erythritol. It is an extensive sweetener, also known as a polyol. Erythritol is obtained by fermentation of glucose by a yeast. This type of sugar is also naturally found in pears, melons and mushrooms and contains no artificial components. This makes it an excellent alternative to both refined sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Sukrin tastes and looks like sugar and contains 0 calories. Erythritol is the only polyol that contains 0 calories per gram. The sweetener has little or no effect on blood sugar and is very suitable for people with diabetes.

With Sukrin products you can enjoy sweet flavors responsibly and optimally, without worrying about your blood sugar or calorie intake. Is the use of Sukrin safe?

The use of erythritol (E968) has been audited and declared safe by the European Food and Safety Authority . As with any other diet, the Acceptable Daily Intake must be taken into account. Erythritol can cause diarrhea if used excessively.

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that, unlike other sugar alcohols (sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol, maltitol and isomalt), is well absorbed in the small intestine. The body absorbs the sweetener but does not break it down, so it is excreted unchanged. As a result, it has no effect on our blood sugar level. The use of Sukrin for diabetics is therefore completely safe.

Is the use of Sukrin healthy?

Our natural products contain no sugar and are low in calories. This allows diabetics to enjoy our products without any risks. In addition, our products are completely gluten-free and suitable for different diets, such as a sugar-free diet, gluten-free diet, protein diet or low-carbohydrate diet.

According to the Diabetes Fund, research has shown that people who take products with sweeteners consume fewer calories compared to people eat and drink products which contain sugar.

Diabetes is a disease that affects about 1 out of 14 people. Diabetes is also known as diabetes mellitus. In diabetes, the body is no longer able to balance blood sugar levels. This is due to the fact that the body has too little insulin, is shedding insulin, or the body no longer produces insulin. Insulin is the hormone that regulates blood sugar.

Diabetes type 2

People have a higher risk of type 2 diabetes when more people in the family suffer from diabetes, when having overweight or insufficient exercise. An unhealthy lifestyle is not the only reason. There are also people who live a healthy life and still develop type 2 diabetes. The treatment of this type of diabetes is mainly a healthy diet, sufficient exercise and often also taking medicines for blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol.

Type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes starts with a predisposition to this form of diabetes. This can also occur when there is no family history of diabetes. In this type of diabetes, the cells that make insulin become out of balance. This results in the immune system attacking the cells that produce insulin. People with type 1 diabetes should measure their blood sugar, inject insulin or wear a pump every day.

How do I prevent diabetes?

When you suffer from diabetes, it is often the case that you will will suffer from it for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, you will never get rid of it with type 1 diabetes. With type 2 diabetes, there is the option of getting rid of it or you can reduce the risk by adjusting your lifestyle.

  • Exercise: It's important to keep moving when you have diabetes. Preferably half an hour a day. This can be done by walking, cycling or exercising. Exercise keeps your blood sugar level more stable.
  • Healthy food and drink: Paying attention to your food intake is always a good idea. When you have diabetes, this even more important. Eat a varied diet and not too much. Sweeten as little as possible and go for sugar-free products. Go for vegetables, fruits, whole grain products, low-fat milk and lean meat. When frying, use saturated natural fats and oils such as olive oil and coconut oil.
  • Stop smoking: Do you have diabetes and do you smoke? Stop immediately. Smoking is not only unhealthy, research has also shown that smoking increases the risk of type 2 diabetes up to 40%.
  • Healthy weight: When overweight, the body reacts less quickly and easily to insulin. It is therefore important to have a healthy weight in order to enable your body to absorb the insulin more easily.
